Hello! I have a really outstanding West African trio that plays live at my bar every Sunday night. Verlaine Bar & Lounge is located on the Lower East Side. The trip, called the Afro-Yorkers play a mix of Afro-Beat and “High Life” music from Nigeria and Ghana that was popular in the 60’s and 70’s. They also like to throw on some reggae bears depending on the crowd.
I would love to have the evening listed on your blog. Sundays, 2 sets. First set begins at 7:30. And they usually start on time. There is never a cover or a drink minimum. We have happy hour until 10 PM so it’s a good way to see an amazing group of guys play some uplifting African jams.
I hope you can enter this announcement in your calendar:

My name is Alexander Dubovoy, and I am a jazz singer/pianist. I recently graduated from Yale University and am now centered out of Brooklyn. After founding and spearheading a student movement to start a jazz program at Yale (which the university recently did), I am starting a career as an artist in New York.
I have three exciting upcoming performances with a new trio project featuring Hans Bilger and Griffin Brown that I would hugely appreciate your help in advertising. They are:
– 8/18 11PM @ Club Bonafide
– 8/19 6PM @ Shrine

I am particularly excited about the 8/29 Cornelia St. Cafe performance, as it will feature pieces from my upcoming album *Portraits Drawn Without You*, which was recorded by 11-time Grammy-winner Jack Renner.
Thank you so much for your help and for supporting the New York music scene.

Well I hope all is good and you’re getting ready to start up again, I’ll still be checking every time I even get close to NYC. Best regards, Roß
